OpenElectrophy Version 0.2.x June 2010

First really bad news for courageous user of OpenElectrophy 0.1.: everything is incompatible with the previous version. To achieve deep and good improvements the whole API has changed. Function names, class names, database schema, everything has changed. But good news, the philosophy for using OpenElectrophy is exactly the same: a clik’n play UI and easy scripting.

Improvement list:
  • Use of sqlalchemy for databases, so both MySQL and SQLite are available
  • Use neo classes: these are common classes for 2 project core (have a look here : http://neuralensemble.org/trac/neo)
  • Better UI
  • Easier installation
  • Faster morlet scalogram
  • Faster oscillation detection
  • Improvement on spike sorting: better UI and multielectrode detection available
  • Many data formats are now supported: Plexon, NeuroExplorer, Spike2, TDT, Micromed, Elan, Elphy, ...
  • Designable tree views in UI
  • Autodetection of new fields in database
  • A documentation
  • A list of examples
